“That Doesn’t Sound Like A Deer”

Hey, did you hear the one about two guys that walk into the woods? Ha ha. Funny joke. Unless of course the two guys are being hunted in those woods by something creepy and weird. Then they don’t do so much laughing. So today’s the day we launch a new website to help support the wide-ranging promotional campaign for ‘The Hunted’, a new horror film produced by Fortress Features. Directed

Creating partnerships with other brilliant people and organizations is what makes this business truly worthwhile. Nowhere do we find that spirit shining brighter than in our new alliance with The Teahouse Music Company. Founded by musician Chris Murphy, Teahouse represents some of the finest music groups for hire in Southern California. This WordPress-based website is the result of our collaboration and I believe it does an excellent job of representing

Jump Up, Get Down, and Freak Out with the new Ghost Beach Website

Did you hear that? That was the sound of you hearing about Ghost Beach first… right here.. from me. Not only are they lovely people with great taste in website developers, they just happen to make the most wildly delightful dancefloor hits that you and most people over the age of 28 have never heard. Not convinced? You’re going to make me embed this player to prove it, aren’t you.

We’re Not Leaving ‘Til There’s Sand in Our Hair

Color of Thunder recently had the pleasure of designing a new website for an emerging Los Angeles-based playgroup for children ages 18 to 36 months. Sacred Garden Playgroup was founded by Sarah Kramer who has been working in Early Childhood Education and Development for more than two decades, both as a preschool teacher and as a private childcare provider. The best part? We have it from a reliable source that

My Neighbor Lends A Hand, Pt. 2

At Color of Thunder it’s not all logos and websites. Sometimes we need to flex other creative muscles just to make sure everything stays sharp. So we present to you Geeksplosive, an alter-ego brand, established just for this purpose. First out of the gate for Geeksplosive is My Neighbor Lends A Hand, Pt. 2, an illustration paying tribute to an imagined collision of Star Wars and Totoro. It’s available to

New Peter Murphy Website Goes (Deep) Worldwide

When Nettwerk Records approached me about doing a new website to tie in with Peter Murphy’s new album release and tour I said: “Sure. Only one thing. You let me finish this my way”. Website Launched for Judith Lance Design Studio

Judith Lance first approached me to design a website for her interior design firm in 2008. Due to extraordinary and unforeseen circumstances the project was delayed, but not forgotten. Earlier this year we reconvened to get the job done and at last the results have come to fruition. I could try to explain the nature of Judith’s remarkable work but it would be with great difficulty and ultimately would only

Color of Thunder is Here!

On July 1 the company that I started in February of 2001 under the name Work Non Work officially changed its name to Color of Thunder. Work Non Work is a banner that proudly stood at the top of four major website overhauls, three different business cards designs, and no less than 1,200 invoices. It will be missed. But energized by the unveiling of this new brand we’ll press on!
